The Club has many yachtsmen who prefer cruising to racing and in addition has many members with motor boats. The Cruising group has a reputation for hospitality and welcomes newcomers. During the past 3 years the Club has organised a cruising programme abroad. In 2007 a hugely successful trip was organised to Croatia. An equally successful canal trip to Burgundy was laid on in 2008 and this year there is the opportunity to go cruising in Turkey.
For those unable to devote the time to such trips, there are shorter cruising voyages arranged closer to home. There was a rally to France and along the Seine in 2007 and subsequently rallies to the Channel Islands. Closer to home there are generally 4 or 5 rallies organised in the Solent from Lymington east to Chichester. Lance Cadell-Smith is the Captain of Cruising.
