Please come and watch from the Clubhouse or if you would like to take part please sign-up via the form in the Club foyer.
Below is a brief summary of what is to take place.
- The RNLI's Yarmouth lifeboat will very kindly take the Lord Lieutenant (LL) and the Baton from Yarmouth Harbour (YH) (subject to operational duties) to arrive in the vicinity of Black Rock Buoy at 10.45am.
- A canon will be sounded from the Royal Solent at 10.50am and the lifeboat will then proceed to the vessel Dunlin, which will be stationed to the north east of Yarmouth Pier.
- The LL will (subject to weather conditions) transfer the Baton to Dunlin. Once this has taken place a further canon will be sounded to mark the start of the ‘Sail Past’ at 11.00am.
- RSYC and YSC boats stationed to the east of Dunlin will be led by the vessel Niobe (RSYC Commodore, Tony Walton) in a 'Sail Past' of Dunlin and the Yarmouth lifeboat.
- The last boat in the Sail Past (Jeremy Butcher YH) will collect the Baton from Dunlin and take it to Gurnard where it will be transferred to a GSC boat.
