Sailing Report

Thom Darcy, a young Club member, is currently sailing around the world singlehandedly on his 28ft Vancouver yacht, 'Fathom', on the voyage of a lifetime.

Racing

The new racing season is at last just around the corner!

Racing begins with the Early Bird Race next Wednesday evening (19th April). Please remember to complete and return to the Sailing Office the Race Entry Form before your first race. It is only necessary to complete this form once a year unless your details change.

Race Entry Forms are available here and from the folder outside the Sailing Office.

Preparations are well under way for the annual Taittinger Regatta, which takes place on the 14th-16th July 2017, and online entries will open shortly.

In addition to our regular Regattas, we are pleased to have been invited to organise the J-109 All Comers Regatta (6th - 7th May), the Sigma 38 National Championships (2nd - 3rd September) and the Contessa 32 National Championships (15th - 17th September).

If you would like to be part of the Race Officer 'team'  the rota is on the website here and on the notice board outside the Sailing Office - previous experience is not necessarily required.

Junior Racing

It looks like being a busy summer commencing with Easter Laser and Pico Training and further Laser Training from 31st July - 4th August. The Junior Regatta is on the 1st - 2nd June and Dinghy Week takes place from 14th - 18th August.

In addition many of our other events are open to junior sailors. 

Cruising

The Cruising Group's first outing of the year was a great success with over 40 members enjoying a tour of the Sir Max Aitken Museum followed by lunch at the Island Sailing Club in Cowes.
