Member Deaths

Mr John Goodall
1943 – 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr John Goodall on Sunday 13th September.
Cyrus Goodall, John’s eldest son, shared the news that his beloved father had an accident while helping him demolish the family home in Reading. John was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital but the Neuro ICU team were unable to save him. Cyrus says his father died doing what he loved. John will be remembered as having an insatiable lust for life; he was so excited about building Cyrus’ oak frame replacement house. The house will be built safely as a tribute to John.
John was a member of the Royal Solent from 1961. Cyrus says his father adored his Club. He regularly took part in Gentlemen’s Lunches and Cruising Club events.
We extend our sincere condolences to Cyrus, and all of John’s family and his many friends.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be shared when available.
