Member Deaths
Mrs Marja Tolley
1945 – 2026
It is with great sadness that we share the news today that RSYC member Mrs Marja Tolley passed away in January 2026.
Mrs Tolley was a well-respected and well-liked member of the Royal Solent and of the community.
Marja joined the Club in May 2022 and enjoyed many of the Club’s social activities. She was well-known locally through her role as Membership Secretary of Friends of Osborne.
Our thoughts are with her friends.
Mrs Lin Lemonius
1947 – 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mrs Lindsay (Lin) Lemonius, age 78, on Friday 10th July.
Lin joined the Royal Solent in 1978 and became a Life Member of the Club. She lived and worked in Yarmouth until the early 90s, before moving to Seaview.
In 2022, Lin moved back to Yarmouth to her much-loved house at The Mount until March of this year when her health deteriorated and she moved into a care home.
Lin was a well-known, greatly respected member and enjoyed visiting the Club as much as she was able to in recent years.
We extend our sincere condolences to Lin’s family and friends at this sad time.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
Mr Richard Cardash
29 November 1945 – 24 June 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Cardash on Wednesday 24th June 2026.
Richard was a valued member of the Royal Solent Yacht Club for nine years. A true gentleman with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour, he greatly enjoyed club lunches, fair-weather boating on the Solent, and sharing stories and conversation with fellow members. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife, Jacqueline, his son Rupert, his daughter Sara, and all of his family and friends.
Richard will be greatly missed.
