Member Deaths
Mr Colin Marsh
1931 – 2026
It is with huge sadness that we announce the death of Mr Colin Marsh on Friday 7th August.
Colin “Hairy” Marsh joined the Royal Solent in 1972. He was a true gentleman and a well-known, greatly respected and much-loved member of the Club and the local community. Colin will be remembered as a larger than life character who was passionate about sailing and about his classic cars. Colin loved to show people his motorbikes and to share tales of his adventures. He also loved cake.
Colin’s funeral will be held at 1.30pm on Wednesday 16th September at St James Church, Yarmouth. All are invited to the Royal Solent afterwards.
We extend our sincere condolences to Colin’s wife, Sarah, their family and their many friends.
