Class 1 & 2
The Class 1 & 2 fleets comprise of several types of vessels that includes classic cruisers, One designs such as Contessa 26, 28 and 32 versions and many other types of boat. Racing every Wednesday and Sunday as well as a number of one off races, regattas and mini series and cruising trips to various destinations in the Solent.
Yarmouth One Design
The Yarmouth One Design Class, based at the Royal Solent Yacht Club in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight, is one of the oldest and most exclusive fleets of keelboats still racing in the Solent. For a full history and more informaiton about this amzing class please look here.
XOD
The X One Design was designed by Islander Alfred Westmacott and first built in 1909 at his boatyard on the St Helens Duver. We offer over 60 races throughout the year. The Club’s racing calendar highlights include the Taittinger RSYC Regatta in July and the Sunset Series. More info here.
Folkboats
For over fifty years Folkboats have been a familiar sight in Yarmouth and at the RSYC. Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings are the main race days. In addition to the Taittinger Regatta, Folkboat Week and Folkboat Nationals there are over 65 opportunities to race. More info here.
Laser
The Laser dinghy is one of the biggest one-design classes in the world with over 200,000 built to date. We aim to provide a pathway for younger sailors moving on from their Optimists, Teras and Picos onto the Solent and into other classes. More info here.
