The Club is delighted to be open once again and our racing programme re-started on Sunday 4th April 2021. Racing is now in full swing and we offer races to Cruisers, Folkboats, XODs, YODs & Lasers on Wednesday Evenings and Sunday mornings, with XODs having further racing on Saturday afternoons.

The racing programme is so far being very enthusiastically supported by members with good numbers keen to take part.

The Club is working with and applying the latest Royal Yachting Association Guidance:

Each crew member should carry out their own personal assessment of the risk of transmission. The only way to avoid all risk of transmission is to not take part at all, especially pertinent if you are a high-risk individual. However, if you do want to sail the Club has produced these protocols to reduce the risk of transmission.

Competitors must:

Jetty and Slipway and Club RIBs

The jetty, rigging and launching areas at the Club are operating at a fraction of their full capacity, allowing plenty of space. The Club will monitor attendance to see that this remains the case. Users must: –

  • Follow the signs and circulation arrows.
  • Take particular care to observe social distancing between groups at all times.
  • Avoid congregating in groups
  • Use the hand washing facilities provided by the Club.
  • No more than two sailors from different households in the Club rib in addition to the driver. Face coverings and gloves must be worn.

Loos and Changing Rooms

  • The loos can be accesed via the colonnade door by a maximum of 3 persons at a time, face coverings must be worn and social distancing observed.
  • The changing rooms and showers reopened on 17th May but to keep their use to a minimum, sailors are asked to arrive in sailing kit and shower at home, ie minimise the time they spend in the changing area.
