The Club usually lays 20-25 dayboat moorings for summer rental from April until mid-October, depending on members’ requirements.
A large dinghy park is sited next to the Club’s lawn with space for approximately 30 dinghies; allocation is on a first come, first served basis, and the Dinghy Park agreement runs annually from January – December. New from 2026 and in line with the amended Bye-Law B15, at the end of January, the Dinghy Park will have an annual overhaul. During this time, members are required to remove their dinghies off site for a fortnight to enable the RSYC boatmen to work in this cleared space in preparation for the new season.
Once the season is underway, dinghies are launched via the Club’s slipway which leads off the dinghy park and across the adjacent pebble beach. During racing, all launching trolleys are left in the dinghy park, or on the beach for short races.
The Club’s wooden jetty stretches out from the colonnade and during the summer there’s a pontoon attached to the end to facilitate coming ashore. There is an outhaul which may be used by RIBs in line with our policy for visiting the Club by boat – please click here for more information.

Club racing from April to September is available for all classes on Wednesday evenings ~ Class 1&2 cruiser racers, Folkboats, XODs, YODs and Dinghies. XOD racing is on Saturdays, and all classes race on Sundays.
Class 1&2 and Folkboats, racing as one class, have a Spring Series from March and the Winter Series runs through to Christmas. Their final race of the season is the Boxing Day Race.
A purpose built race hut “Grants” is located about 200 metres to the east of the clubhouse. This can be used for racing if required. The Club has a mark-laying boat MARKSMAN which is used for club racing and regattas; SOLENT RIB and the Committee boat COUNTDOWN are also used in support of racing activities.
In addition to supporting RSYC racing events, the Club also hosts a number of regattas every year, with some races stretching from Christchurch Bay to the Central Solent area, weather permitting.
