
Your Personal Data
- The Royal Solent Yacht Club (RSYC, ‘the Club’) will always adhere to the current data protection legislation and takes seriously its responsibilities to protect personal data. All of the information provided on this entry form, excluding payment details which are processed solely by Stripe, will be stored on RSYC computers and those of our Website Provider (Peripatus), so that we can manage your entry to the Regatta and your bookings as a social attendee.
- Management of your race entry includes, but is not limited to, assigning your boat to the correct class, checking your boat’s rating, sending necessary materials to you digitally, contacting you prior to the event via phone, email or WhatsApp to resolve any queries regarding your entry, contacting you during the race to inform you of messages, protests and other key information, producing results in Halsail and publishing them in the Club and on our website and providing printed and electronic lists that include your boat details (boat name, sail number, hull colour, design and length) to our race management team.
- A subset of your data will be publicly visible on our website and in the Club in the form of a ‘Competitor’s List’ and in the form of a ‘Results List’, which may also be distributed to other entrants. Details may include, but are not limited to: Owner, Club, Class, Boat name, Type, Sail number Helm Name, Handicap/rating.
- If you have booked a mooring in Yarmouth Harbour through our online booking system, the necessary information will be passed to the harbour to enable them to process and manage your booking (boat name, design, length, helm’s name and helm’s contact telephone number).
- We will retain your personal data on our computers after the Regatta so that you can make an entry to future Taittinger RSYC Regattas and other RSYC events without needing to re-enter all of the information. We will also retain the website data as a historic public record of your participation in the Race. You may request to see the personal information that we hold about you at any time and/or request that such personal information is deleted.
- The Club may arrange for photographs or videos to be taken of the Taittinger RSYC Regatta, both ashore and on-the-water, for publication on our website, in our magazine, in sailing related media channels and via social media channels to promote the Club. The entrant authorises the use of their and their crew members’ names, voices, pictures and videos along with any information provided on the event entry system/form to be used without payment in any broadcast, telecast, communication, promotion, or advertising. The entrant also agrees that the information provided may be used by the event organisers for the purpose of promoting future or other events.
- Competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority its agents, sponsors, licensees and other partners, without payment, the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed materials of or relating to the event, which may include images of competitors, boats, support vessels, crew, sponsors and helpers provided that they do not infringe the privacy rights of participants and provided that the Organising Authority shall not use such images to create a direct endorsement by or from a competitor or any person, sponsor, product or service associated with a competitor, without the prior consent of the competitor. The Organising Authority reserves the right to edit and make alterations to images and footage to include the use of ‘virtual’ sponsor branding
- The RSYC has a Data Privacy Policy which can be found at www.royalsolent.org/privacy-policy/. Your data will be stored in accordance with this Policy.
- The RSYC, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 (GDPR), will use information provided by competitors for the purposes of RSYC event management only. This data will be held in compliance with the GDPR and will not be shared with any third parties or used for marketing purposes other than contacting competitors by email, post, SMS and telephone with information regarding this event or future events. Competitors will be required to provide their specific consent to this on their entry form.
- The Taittinger RSYC Regatta 2026 is IRC Solent Championship Event 3. By signing up and paying to enter the Taittinger RSYC Regatta via the online entry form, IRC boats give consent for their contact details to be given to the IRC Solent Championship organisers, This is used solely for the purposes of making contact regarding the IRC Solent Championship, including Prize Giving.
- Race boat moorings include 2 nights on a walkashore mooring from midday Friday to 5pm on Sunday. The price includes an extension to 5pm on Sunday 26th July to enable you to return to Yarmouth Harbour in order to attend the lunch and prize giving at RSYC. However, your Sunday afternoon mooring will NOT necessarily be the same mooring that you left that morning, and may be a swing mooring outside the harbour if the harbour is full. Free harbour taxis operate all weekend. All moorings, including swing moorings, must be vacated by 5pm on Sunday. Vessels will be assigned to finger berths or walk-ashore rafted positions within the inner harbour as requested at time of booking. A confirmed booking guarantees a berth within the harbour but does not guarantee a specific berth.
Terms & Conditions
All entry fees and payments for social events and Yarmouth Harbour moorings purchased in relation to the Taittinger RSYC Regatta are non-transferable and non-refundable. There will be no refunds for cancelling or amending any part of your regatta booking or mooring(s), except in the event that your class is under subscribed and cannot race or in the event that the whole regatta is cancelled for whatever reason.
Please note that an entry into the regatta is not deemed to be complete until payment of the corresponding entry fee has been received in full by the Club.
The Committee reserves the right to retain any entry fees in the event that the Taittinger RSYC Regatta has to be cancelled, for whatever reason.
The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry to any Royal Solent Yacht Club event without giving a reason and to make alterations to the Programme, Notice of Race and other documentation.
Early Bird entry to the Taittinger RSYC Regatta closes at midnight on 10th June. Standard Entry closes at midnight on 2nd July and late entry closes at midnight on 15th July. These dates are not extendable.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions you acknowledge that your entry requires you to race within the Regatta.
Declaration

- I certify that the particulars of my boat as stated on this form are correct.
- I consent to the use of personal data in accordance with points 1-11 listed above.
- I agree to the Terms & Conditions listed above.
- I agree to be bound by the RYA Racing Rules of Sailing and all other rules that govern this Regatta. I confirm that I have read the Notice of Race including the Risk Statement and accept its provisions and agree that that my boat will conform to the requirements set out in the Notice of Race set out below throughout this Regatta.

- I confirm that this participating boat is adequately insured with valid third-party liability insurance, including cover for racing, with minimum cover of at least £5,000,000 (FIVE million pounds sterling) or the equivalent per incident.
By entering, entrants declare that such cover will be maintained in full force throughout the Regatta and agree to allow the Royal Solent Yacht Club, at its discretion, to pass on their contact details to third party insurers in the event of a possible insurance claim. - I make these declarations on my behalf and as an agent acting on behalf of all persons on board the boat entered into the Taittinger Royal Solent Yacht Club Regatta 2026.
