Kitchen Porter

This is an exciting opportunity to join the slick kitchen team at the Royal Solent Yacht Club, the home of the renowned Taittinger RSYC Regatta!
 
The permanent part time role of Kitchen Porter in our busy kitchen will involve keeping on top of the washing and drying up and carrying out cleaning duties as instructed in order to support our team of chefs. 
 
Your shifts will be mostly mid-week, lunchtimes and some evenings, plus some weekend shifts as required. 
 
If you possess many of the following qualities, then we'd love to hear from you:

  • The maintenance of consistently high standards
  • Good time keeping skills
  • High standard of personal hygiene
  • The ability to use your own initiative
  • And above all being a team player
  • Some evening and weekend working will be required

Summer Boatperson

This is a great opportunity to join the Royal Solent Yacht Club's dynamic crew on-the-water this Summer.
 
If you possess the following qualifications and experience, then this could be the ideal role for you:
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • VHF licence
  • Boat handling experience (outboard, traditional shaft, jet drive)
  • Good knowledge of sailing & ideally racing
  • Flexibility with working times (some evening & weekend work required)
  • Good time keeping skills
  • Using own initiative
  • Good people & communication skills
  • And above all being a team player
You will be working under our experienced Head Boatman, Tom, carrying out the following tasks for the fixed term of 20th May – 8th September 2024:
  • Maintenance of Club boats
  • Driving Club boats, including ferrying members to & from moorings
  • Mark laying
  • Property maintenance
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Flag etiquette
  • Event preparation
