The Royal Solent Yacht Club is very active on the water, members have the opportunity to participate in the following club racing throughout the year:

The Spring Series begins in mid March and runs through to Easter Sunday with six races in total. This is open to Class 1&2 and Folkboats.

Spence Willard Wednesday Evening Racing (WER) starts at the end of April. This is for all classes (Class 1&2 Cruiser Racers, Folkboats, XODs & YODs sailing as Class 3, & Dinghies). WER runs every Wednesday right through to mid September and consists of three series. The Prize Giving & Supper is a very popular evening for all sailors.

XODs race each Saturday from the end of April until mid September.

Class 1&2 Cruiser Racers, Folkboats, XODs, YODs & Dinghies race on Sunday mornings from the end of April until the end of September.

Laser Training takes place for a week at the end of July with an RYA Instructor.

Dinghy Week is for four days in August, when all ages and all dinghies are welcome.

Racing with the Royal Lymington is actively encouraged – Class 1&2, Folkboats & XODs can race on Thursday evenings during the summer from the Lymington start box.

We all enjoy the Sunset Series of evening races during the third week in August.
- The two Winter Series for Class 1&2 and Folkboats run from early October until the end of December, these are sponsored by River Yar Boatyard and Wight Marine. The great finale (and not part of any series) is the very popular Boxing Day Race.
