Gentlemen,
I am delighted that we are entering the Autumn/Winter Gentleman's Luncheon season, and I look forward to welcoming you back to the club to catch up with friends and members.
Our next luncheon is on Friday, the 3rd of October, and I am pleased to say that we have a wonderful speaker lined up for your enjoyment.
Professor Richard Newsom is an ophthalmic surgeon with specialist expertise in refractive cataract surgery and diabetic eye disease. Richard has a keen interest in global medicine, having taught and trained ophthalmic surgeons worldwide. Richard is a regular speaker at national and international meetings, and I am honored that he has agreed to come and speak for us at the Royal Solent.
Richard is a keen competitive sailor, a race winner at the Cowes Week Regatta, and can regularly be seen in the Solent skippering the competitive J Class boat, Javlin. It is this background that will form the basis of Richard's talk, comparing the relationship between microsurgery and sailing.
This promises to be a fascinating talk, and I hope you will come along to show your support for Richard and our growing Gentleman's Luncheons. Remember that guests are very welcome.
